MAINES
MAJESTIC MOOSE
Maine Moose Hunts
Maine has a very healthy moose herd: approximately 35,000
animals. Maine Moose hunting is by drawing a moose hunting
permit only. We moose hunt the following 11, 6, 5, 19, 3,
2, 10, 1, 9, and 18 zones.
The Moose hunt, is for the largest animal of the deer family
in the world. Moose enjoy the lakes, rivers and big wet
boggie areas; one source of food, and the water helps keep
the bugs off of moose in the summer. Mid-September through
October is moose breeding season. The bull moose are in
full rut at this time and will attack anything, even cars.
The young moose calves are born in May and June.
Moose
have poor eyesight, but a good sense of smell. Often you
can find moose antlers in the woods after they shed them
in December and January.
If
you are fortunate to get a moose permit we have the area
to hunt moose in maine.
Its table right!- Moose tastes like beef: only a little
darker and no additives. |
